 Our company began in Hopkins, MN in 1957 as a small retail appliance store featuring, among other things, Vent-A-Hood range hoods. In 1969, Lee Guyer purchased the company and, in 1975 Lee expanded by starting a new business selling appliances to builders. Also, in that same year his sons, Hal & Randy joined him in the businesses. In 1980 Lee started another company to distribute high-end appliances to appliance stores and kitchen dealers. In 1987 Lee sold the retail business to his two sons, Hal & Randy. Since then, the company has morphed into Shady Oak Distributing with Randy's daughter, LeAnne, joining the company in 2006. We are very proud of our 3rd generation business, still located in Hopkins, and of our families' 40+ year relationship with Vent-A-Hood - also a family owned company. We are proud to distribute the fine products below in a territory that includes the states of MN, ND, SD, IA and WI. There is, however, an exception in Iowa where we do not handle all products.
